THESSALY, Thessalian League, (c.196-146 B.C.), silver double victoriatus, (6.25 grams), Larissa mint, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSA LW[N]*, above across **[IP]POL OCOS* and in exergue **[AT]RESTIDH*, (cf.S.2232, McClean 4927 [p.239, Pl.179,7]). Bright, slightly porous on reverse, otherwise good very fine and rare.
