LYCIA, Lycian Dynasts or city, Vedrei, (c.380 B.C.), silver stater, (9.752 grams), obv. lion scalp facing, rev. triskeles to left, Lycian letters ( = Ved) within each leg a letter, all within circlar incuse, (S.5237, SNG Cop. 31, BMC 152 [p.35], Podalia Hoard [Num. Chron. 1971] 367-371). Very fine/nearly extremely fine and rare.
Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 79 (lot 3249). The triskles symbol is a distinctive Lycian emblem connected with the national deity, Apollo.
