BLACK SEA, The Tauric Cherronesos, (A.D. 180-192), AE 18, (3.928 grams), obv. bull standing to right, around **ELEUQERA*C, rev. woman (Artemis) striking a deer with a spear to right around X [E] P, (S.-, Anokhin 281 [Pl.XIX] = Hermitage Collection No.315, SNG BMC -, SNG Stancomb -). Weak in places, otherwise very fine and very rare.

An interesting type noted by Anokhin from the period of the 'second Eleutheria' represented by this rare local issue.
