SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochos VIII, (121-96 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.266 grams), Antioch mint, first reign, issued 121-113 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochos VIII to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus Uranius with crescent above standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right **BASILEOS and **ANTIOCOU and to left **EPI FANOUS, to left IE over A, in exergue **F*, (cf.S.7143, Newell SMA 377, cf.SNG Israel I (Spaer) 2500). Porous surface, nearly very fine and scarce.
