POLAR MEDAL 1904 (EIIR) - ONE BAR - ANTARCTIC 1964. R.A. O'Leary. Engraved. Extremely fine.

Together with Royal Mint fitted case of issue. Raymond Arthur O'Leary (b.19Jan1926), Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition 1964. Served as Officer-in-Charge at Wilkes Station during 1964 and also led two expeditions inland, one to determine the highest point of the ice dome 70 miles south-east of the station, and the other to the eastern side of the Vanderford Glacier.
