SOUTH AFRICA, Austria: Lapel badge for Austro-Hungarian Benevolent Society, Johannesburg, S.A.R. Lapel fitting on reverse stamped with maker's name,Joh / Schwerotner / Wien. Probably an Austrian based relief society in South Africa at the beginning of the Anglo-Boer War. Heavy enamelled brass badge with a few small enamel chips (34mm). Very rare. Very fine.
