TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.596 grams), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (S.1763, RIC 30, BMC 48, H.916 [304]). Toned, weak on centre on reverse, minor edge chip, otherwise very fine or slightly better.
Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17).
