PERU, 1870, Transandino Railroad, Arequipo to Puno, constructed by Enrique (Henry) Meiggs (50mm) silver by R.Laubenheimer for Starr & Marcus (cf. Forrer VII, 567), obverse, eagle carrying female over steam train on viaduct travelling between mountains, reverse, list of officials for the inauguration within double legend (Moyaux 435). Several very small edge nicks that do not detract from the medal, nicely toned very fine - extremely fine.
