PONTUS OR BOSPHORUS, uncertain area, c.130-100 B.C., AE 25, (22.86 grams), obv. male head to left with countermarks of helmet, gorgoneion and thunderbolt, rev. star of eight rays with central dot, (S.-, cf.SNG BMC (Black Sea) 972-5, SNG Stancomb 649). Dark patina, very fine and rare.
