SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius II, (129-126/5 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.084 grams), Tyre mint, issued 129-8 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius II to right, rev. eagle standing to left with closed wings on prow of galley, palm branch behind, Tyre monogram above club to left, year to right *DPR*, other letters in field, Zb between legs, around **BASILEWS [DHMHTIO]U*, (cf.S.7105, SC.2195.2a, Newell "Tyre" [ANS-MN 73] 158, SNG Spaer 2225). Attractive dark tone, off centred reverse, otherwise extremely fine, scarce.
