QUEEN'S SUDAN MEDAL 1896-98. 3439 Pte H.S.Jones. 4th HRS. Attd. 21st Lancers. Engraved in upright serif capitals. Renamed, several medal contact marks in obverse field in front of Queen, otherwise fine.
Pte H.S.Jones was attached to B Squadron which was in the famous Charge at Ombdurman by the 21st Lancers and this squadron sufferred more casualties than the other three squadrons combined. Ex Tom Hanley Collection.
