WWII DOG TAG, shaved down obverse of Crete five drachma 1910 (KM.9) engraved "N.X. 9835/Pte E.A. Evans/B3/C.E." Mount removed from top, otherwise very fine.
Private Ernest Alfred Evans, 2/4 Battalion, Enl.04Jan1940 at Balmain, court martialled 28Jan1943, Disch.17Apr1944. 2/4 Battalion was at the Battle of Crete as part of the 14th Brigade.
