THE COPLEY MEDAL, in silver (43mm). A gold medal of this was awarded by the Royal Society of London to Captain James Cook R.N. (Klenman 2). Virtually as struck, nearly uncirculated and rare.

Baronet Godfrey Copley instituted this medal which was awarded annually from 1736.
