THRACE, Tauric Chersonese, Panticapaeum, (340-325 B.C.), AE 17, (4.256 grams), obv. Bearded satyr head to left, rev. head of ox to left, around **P A N*, (cf.S.1699, BMC 17-8, SNG Stancomb 557-559 [Pl.XXV], MacDonald 67 [p.23], SNG BM 890-893 [Pl.XXXIV]); another (3rd century B.C.), AE 19, (6.96 grams), obv. beardless Pan head to left, wearing ivy leaf, rev. countermarked by twelve-rayed star, over a bow and arrow [**PAN*] below, (S.1701, cf.SNG Stancomb 560-61, SNG BM 898-899, BMC 31). brown patina, nearly extremely fine; very fine, both scarce. (2)
