SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus II Theos (261-246 B.C.). silver tetradrachm, (16.45 grams), uncertain mint, issued late in reign, obv. diademed head of Antiochus III to right, plain border, rev. Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow, on right, **[B]ASILEWS* and to left ANTIOXOY, in exergue monogram, (cf.S.6934, Newell ESM -, cf.SC 579). Old tone, high relief, otherwise good very fine/nearly extremely fine, very rare, variety not published.
