THRACE, Kingdom of, Lysimachus, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.310 grams), Amphipolis mint, issued 288/7-282/1 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, within dotted circle, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, **PUOD* monogram to left, monogram **HDTR* in exergue, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **LUSIMAXOU*, (cf.S.6814, Thompson 201 variant, cf.Armenak 919 [ANS MN 316 [p.86, Plate 24], ACNAC Wulfing No.196, Meydancikkale -). Lightly toned with full flan, extremely fine and very rare.
