GERMANY, Buchenwold Concentration camp, fifty pfennig Wertmarke note Number 6389, variety with slanting overprint of SS-Ko Rottleberode/A5 (Campbell No. 3947); another similar for two marks, Number 1201, (Campbell 3949e); another Number 536, without A5 (Campbell 3949a). Very good - fine and all scarce. (3)
Ex Ceslovas Liutikas Collection. The Wertmarke notes were issued as a reward for good behaviour, diligent work or the completion of special projects. It was used for purchase of 'luxury items' such as cigarettes, extra portions of food or special services.
