SICILY, Syracuse, 430-420 B.C., AE trias, AE 15, (3.65 grams), obv. female head r.(Arethusa?) hair bound to form forelocks on top of head (korymbos), dolphin before and behind, [**S*YPA], rev. cuttle fish with three pellets around with two visible, (S.1184, Calciati No.1, [dates 425 B.C.], SNG Munich 1046, BMC 126-131, Favorito Type 1). Dark brown patination, good very fine.
