SICILY, Syracuse, end of second democracy and Dionysos I, (c.405 B.C.), AE 17, (5.06 grams), obv. head of Arethusa to left, E behind, rev. quadripartite incuse square, at centre incuse circle containing a star, (S.1185, BMC 242, SNG Lloyd 1426-7, SNG ANS 398-402, Favorito 74). Light brown patination, very fine and very scarce.

Ex Dr. Garth Drewry Collection, Triton XI January 9, 2008 (lot 1758 part) and previously from Don Zauche at Clearwater Coin Show, July 2, 1998 with collector ticket.
