South African War: Trooper James Higgins, born Lincoln, SA, Regt No.24 Third Bushmens Contingent (South Australia) The QSA medal was presented to members of the Third Bushmens Contingent by the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York during the Royal Tour by the HMS Ophir to Adelaide 8-15 July 1901. WWI: Private James Higgins, Enl.30Jun1916, application shows three years service with Third Contingent Australian Bushmen in South African War; WIA (slightly) France 10Feb1917; WIA France (2 occasions) GSW right arm and wrist; Disch.18Feb1918.
