TRIO: The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (Officer) (OBE) (Type 1); British War Medal 1914-18; Commonwealth Of Australia Senior Cadets Medal (District Competitions) 1912-13. First medal unnamed, 61819 A-Sjt F.F.Byatt. G.S.R. A.I.F. on second medal, Cadet. F.Byatt 64th Battn on third medal. Second medal impressed, third medal engraved. Extremely fine.

Together with Returned from Active Service badge(AIF) impressed number 115329 on reverse; I.D. disc for No.61819 / Victoria / Frank F.Byatt; RSL badge (large two figure type) impressed number 75040 on reverse; Victoria ARP Warden’s badge number AA966; AIF Soldiers Pay Book, F.F.Byatt, 61819, 13th G.S.R. (22Bn). Confirmed J Coy 64th Battalion 16th Brigade won 1912-13 competition for District 3 (Victoria). Lieutenant Francis Fytche Byatt, 3rd year of Engineering at Queen’s College, University of Melbourne; attached certificate from MUR shows that 2nd Lt F Byatt of the Senior Cadets passed exam for promotion to rank of Sergeant; 1916-17 Lieutenant with Melbourne University Rifles; certificate that Lt Byatt of 7th Field Company A.E. had attended School of Instruction for Field Engineering at Swan Island 23Jan1918; Varsity & Schools’ Unit, AMF, 3rd MD, certificate showing that Byatt was attested as member of the Australian Imperial (Expeditionary) Force 16Mar1918; Emb.05Oct1918; AIF Instructor Education Service in England and Belgium 06Jan1919 - 27Aug1919; underwent an engineering refresher course at Manchester with Dorman Long & Coy, the company that built the Sydney Harbour Bridge; 14Nov1919 granted leave to RTA via America at own expense; Demob.6Mar1920 . Frank Byatt OBE, BCE, went on to a fulfilling career becoming a Methodist Minister and an advocate for the aid of refugees. A biography of post WWI positions is as follows, Asst. Supt. The Christmas Bowl Appeal Programme run by the Christian World Service was started in 1949 by Frank Byatt. Reverend F F Byatt BCE was awarded an OBE for his work with refugees. With research.
