GROUP OF SEVEN: The Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire (CIE) Companions neck badge; The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE)(Civil) 1st type; Knight Bachelor's Badge, 1st type; King's Police Medal (GVR) 1st type crowned head; Delhi Durbar Medal 1911; Jubilee Medal 1935; Coronation Medal 1937. Horace Williamson C.I.E. M.B.E. Indian Police Service on fourth medal. Fourth medal engraved, all other medals unnamed. Very fine - extremely fine.

After being posted in various districts as Assistant Superintendent, he was appointed to Agra in 1909 and was for seven years in charge of the police of this important district. His work was distinguished and was regularly acknowledged by Government. In 1916 he was appointed Assistant to the Inspector General. He received the title of M.B.E. in January 1919 in recognition of his services. He was later employed as Sectretary to the Hunter Commission and was created a C.I.E. in 1922. In 1923 he was appointed a Deputy Inspector General of Police and acted Inspector General for six months in 1928. He is at present in charge of the C.I.D. where he has shown conspicuous ability and initiative. His administrative work has throughout been of a very high order and he has done much to improve the morale of the officers and men under his control'. KB L G 01Jan1934.
