PAMPHYLIA, Side, (375-333 B.C.), silver stater, (9.812 grams), obv. Athena standing to left holding wreath bearing Nike in right hand, spear and shield in left hand, pomegranate before, rev. naked Apollo standing to the left wearing chlamys over shoulder, pouring libation from patera on to a lighted altar, and holding a long laurel branch, Pamphylian legend behind, arrow pointing to patera, (cf.S.5430 [Å“350], SNG France 3, 644, cf.BMC 17 [p.146, Pl.XXVI, 9]); Cilicia, Tarsos, (361-334 B.C.), silver stater, (9.876 grams), Baal of Tarsos enthroned to left, with grapes etc., rev. lion on back of stag all within incuse square, (S.5649, [Å“225], SNG Levante 108 (Pl.7), SNG France 2, 326 [PL.11]). Both worn and with some surface porosity, otherwise poor - nearly very fine, both rare. (2)
