Ex Spink Australia Sale 15 (lot 342). In 'Beads to Banknotes' by R.P. Hargreaves, p.74-5 he states 'Contemporary evidence is also available that makes it almost certain that a third firm of Otago Merchants issued its own promissory notes in 1862 if not in other years as well. The firm was Dunedin based Young & McGlashan ...unfortunately none are known to exist today and there is no written account of what form their design took".
