MARCIAN, (A.D. 450-457), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, (4.47 grams), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust facing holding spear and shield, D N MARCIA NVS P F AVG around, rev. Victory standing to left, holding long cross, star in right field, VICTORI A AVGGGE around, CONOB in exergue, (S.4322, RIC 510). Several minor scratches on obverse and reverse, broad flan, nearly extremely fine and scarce.
