SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, (175-164 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.81 grams), Series 3, Ptolemais mint, issued 167-164 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus IV to right, filleted border, monogram [A/B] behind, rev. Zeus seated left on throne, holding Nike, on right, **BASILEOS ANTIOXOU*, to left **QEOU EPIFANOUS NIKHFOROU*, branch on extreme left, in exergue A/B A**G*, (cf.S.6977, SC 1476.2d, SNG Israel I [Spaer] 1154). Fine with obverse corrosion/very fine, a scarce type.
