ANCIENT GREEK AND ROMAN, includes Macedon, Kingdom of Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), holed, silver tetradrachm, (16.46 grams), Babylon mint, issued 323-317 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left M, **LU* monogram below throne, **[B]ASILEW[S]* in exergue, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3692, BMC 3692a-f, M.1272, Demanhur Hoard 4479-4525); Roman silver denarii of Hadrian, (S.3516), Severus Alexander, (S.7902), Elagabalus, AE sestertius (cf.S.7576), 2nd century AE (1), 3rd century AE (4), 4th century (9), other issues of Syracuse, Alexandria Egypt, billon tetradrachms (3), Aurelian (2) and Maximianus; India including a large punch mark silver piece 4th century B.C., Morocco and copies of (2) shekels of Tyre in good style both marked copy on edge.
