HADRIAN, (A.D. 117-138), AE dupondius (as ?), issued 136, Rome mint, (15.39 grams), obv. laureate draped bust to right of Hadrian, around HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, rev. RESTITVTORI HISPAN IAE around, S C in exergue, Hadrian standing right on left, raising Hispania with a rabbit before her and holding a branch, (cf.S.3691, RIC 955f, C.1266 var.). Dark green patina, deep corrosion flaw on reverse, otherwise nearly very fine/fine and very scarce issue of the emperor's celebrated geographical reverse types, lot includes collector's card description.
