SICILY, Syracuse, (317-289 B.C.), silver stater, (6.73 grams), obv. head of Athena to right wearing plain Corinthian helmet, upright trident in left field, rev. Pegasos flying to left, thunderbolt below, (cf.S.976; Calciati 24, SNG Ash.2093). Dark tone, extremely fine and rare.
