AELIUS, Caesar, (A.D. 136-138), AE As, Rome mint, issued A.D. 137, (11.87 grams), obv. bare head of Aelius to right, around L AELIVS CAESAR, rev. around TR POT COS II, Spes advancing to left, holding flower and lifting skirt, (S.3993, RIC 1067, BMC 1931, C.61). Nearly very fine, with light soil patination, scarce.

Ex Garth R. Drewry Collection, CNG Triton XI Sale (lot 1785 part) and previously from the Henry Christensen Inc., Auction 9, March 30, 1973 (lot 131), together with Dr. Drewry and auction tickets.
