SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Emesa mint, issued A.D. 194, (2.31 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II, rev. around MONET AVG, Moneta standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae, (S.6314, RIC 411a, RSC 330). Toned, good very fine and very scarce.

Ex Marc Melcher Collection. 63 examples in Reka Devnia Hoard, which contained 7256 Septimius Severus denarii.
