SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Emesa mint, issued A.D. 193, (3.01 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG, rev. around VICT AVG TR P COS, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm, (S.6369, RIC 22, RSC 682). Lightly toned, good very fine and very scarce.

Ex Marc Melcher Collection. 13 examples in Reka Devnia Hoard, which contained 7256 Septimius Severus denarii.
