CHARLES CORNWALLIS, 1st Marquis Cornwallis, cut out section from end of letter, written both sides, end reads, 'I am Dear Sir / Very faithfully Yours / Cornwallis', together with b&w photo of Marquis Cornwallis portrait by J.S.Copley. Good very fine.
The Marquis Cornwallis (1783-1805) was a British Army officer and colonial administrator. He was one of the leading British generals in the American War of Independence.
