CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 213, Rome mint, (2.56 grams), obv. laureate head right, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG BRIT, rev. Mars advancing to left, holding spear and trophy, around MARTI PROPVGNATORI, (S.6819, RIC 223, RSC 150). Slightly uneven flan, otherwise extremely fine with traces of mint bloom.
