JULIA MAMAEA, mother of Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 232, Rome mint, (2.94 grams), obv. draped bust to right of Julia Mamaea, IVLIA MA MAEA AVG, rev. FECVND AVGVSTAE, Fecunditas seated to left, extending right hand over child standing right, (S.8208, RIC 332, RSC 6, BMC 913). Slight flan crack, toned on a large broad flan, nearly extremely fine.
