TREBONIANUS GALLUS, (A.D. 251-253), silver antoninianus, uncertain branch mint, (3.20 grams), issued 252-253, obv. radiate draped bust to right, around IMP CAE C VIB TREB GALLVS AVG, rev. Pietas standing left raising both hands, altar at feet, around PIETAS AVGG, (S.9643, RIC 41, RSC 76). Mild surface pitting, areas of dark toning, very fine and a rare early issue of the uncertain branch mint.

Ex Harlan Berk with ticket. This piece carries the early obverse legend IMP CAE, soon to be abbreviated to IMP C. Only three such coins from the uncertain branch mint are recorded by F.Dieulafait.
