ELIZABETH I, (1558-1603), milled coinage, 1561-70, gold half pound, mint mark star, 1560-6 (S.2543; N.2019/3) (BNJ 1983, obv 3, rev 1, this coin noted). Slightly crinkled, reverse die cud at 10 o'clock, good very fine/nearly extremely fine and very rare.
Ex Sheffield Collection, Spink Noble Sale 43 (lot 2703), earlier in N.C. Jany 1974 (198) and Seaby C. & M.B. June 1981 (EG 52). Borden & Brown note eight specimens from these dies and a total of forty five known of all dies.
