AUGUSTUS, as Octavian, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, mint moving with Octavian, issued 37 B.C., (3.76 gm), obv. Octavian head to right bearded, around IMP CAESAR DIVI F III VIR ITER R P C, rev. simpulum, sprinkler, jug and lituus, border of dots, around COS ITER ET TER DESIG, (S.1544, Cr.538/1, C.91, Syd.1334, BMC Gaul 116). Slightly off-centre on obverse, a banker's mark and several scratches, otherwise nearly very fine.
