ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), AE as, issued 140-144, Rome mint, (8.43 gm), obv. laureate head to right of Antoninus Pius, around ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P, rev. knife, sprinkler, ewer, lituus and simpulum, around TR POT COS III, S C in exergue, (S.-, RIC 704a, C.922). Attractive dark brown patina, extremely fine, very rare in this condition, with collector's ticket indicating purchase in Feb. 1903.
