MALTA, Knights of Rhodes (Knights Hospitaller), Jean Baptiste de Lascaris de Castellar, (1636-1657), AE 4 tari, (3.61 gm), countermarked issue, obv. host coin, crowned coat of arms, rev. clasped hands, (countermarks include double headed eagle, fleur de lis, head of St John, paschal lamb, crescent (seven in total), (KM 229, Restelli & Sammut p.216-7). Host coin poor, but countermarks very fine or better and rare as such.
