PROBUS, (A.D. 276-282), base silver antoninianus, Rome mint (3.39 g), obv. radiate bust to left of Probus, draped in imperial mantle, holding sceptre surmounted by eagle, around IMP PRO BVS AVG, rev. Sol in chariot riding left, holding globe and whip, around SOLI INVICTO, in exergue uncertain, (S.12038, RIC 202, C.644). Silvered surface, extremely fine, weak in places, scarce.
