BASIL II & CONSTANTINE VII, period of (976-1025/8), copper follis (15.34 g), Anonymous Class A2, Constantinople mint, obv. Nimbate facing bust of Christ, raising hand in benediction and holding Gospels, cross and pellets in nimbus, +EMMA NOVHA around, rev. four-line legend, dotted circle and wings above and below legend, (S.1813, DOC III A2.24, R.1924-5, BMC 11-12). Very large flan, weakness on face of Christ, otherwise very fine or better and rare as such.
