Hon Lieut James Thomas Shaw, Australian Branch of British Red Cross Society, appt 01Jul1918 CAG 105/18, commission delivered in England by AIF HQs; served in ARCS in London; retired honorary rank of Lieutenant and services terminated 31Dec1919; BWM is sole entitlement; a newspaper report in the On Service section of The Evening Post, Wellington, New Zealand, 05Oct1918 states, 'James T.Shaw who has just been appointed to take charge of the Prisoners of War Department of the Australian Red Cross in London is a native of Taranaki and left New Zealand for Sydney 20 years ago. He offered his services to the Red Cross for a year and has just reached London.'
