EAST AFRICA, dagger, 20th century, in wooden scabbard with a central window on one side carved into wood to expose blade, around the window is a deeply incised, irregular geometric pattern, three broad bands of fine dark wire are wound around the scabbard and the dagger handle is completely covered in the same wire, a metal band is wrapped around the top of the scabbard and there is a pierced wooden lug on the back for suspension, total length 36cm. The blade has been secured into handle with silicon, otherwise good very fine.
