Despite a French law forbidding the exhumation of bodies, the wealth and influence of Norman's father, Major General F.A.Adam C.B. enabled him to enlist the help of the local mayor and the body was exhumed in June 1922 then taken to Glasgow where it was reburied in July in the Glasgow Necropolis (see p280 of The Quick and the Dead: Fallen Soldiers and Their Families in the Great War by Richard van Emden).

Norman Macleod Adam is recorded on the Fettes College Roll of Honour where it shows that he was awarded the Military Cross and also Mentioned in Despatches.
