DCM: Supplement to LG 20/10/1916, p10196. Citation: 'For conspicuous gallantry during operations. As company runners to the officer holding an advanced post, Privates Campbell and Lowe repeatedly went backwards and forwards carrying messages over open ground under artillery, machine gun and rifle fire at 300 yards range. Their devotion to duty was very fine.'
