AUGUSTUS, as Octavian, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, mint moving with Octavian, issued 37 B.C., (3.80 g), obv. Octavian head to right bearded, around [IMP] CAESAR DIVI F III VIR ITER R P C, rev. simpulum, sprinkler, jug and lituus, border of dots, around [C]OS ITER ET TER DESIG, (S.1544, Cr.538/1, C.91, Syd.1334, BMC Gaul 116). Slightly off-centre on obverse, porous surface, rough edge, otherwise good very fine or better, rare.
