MARK ANTONY AND OCTAVIA, (36-35 B.C.), AE as, fleet coinage, Sicilian mint (possibly also Zacynthus), (4.32 g), obv. conjoined heads of Anthony and Octavia to right, around [M ANT IMP TER]T COS DESIG ITER ET [TERT III VIR] R.P.C., rev. galley sailing to right, A below, M OPPIVS CAPI[TO PRO PR PRAEF CLAS]S F.C. around, (S.1497, RPC 1470, Syd.1268, C.11, CNR Vol.II p.114-5). Even brown patina, worn legends, otherwise fine - very fine and rare.

Ex Collection of Barry Allen Jones with ticket from M.R. Roberts, previously from the Colin E. Pitchfork Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 62 (lot 2524), Roy Sansom Collection, sold c.1973 and from the B.R. Noble Collection sold at Glendining's London, 11 December, 1975 (lot 142 part).
