CLAUDIUS, (A.D. 41-54), AE quadrans, Rome mint, issued A.D. 41 - 42, obv. three legged modius, around TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG, rev. S C in centre around PON M TR P IMP COS DES IT or similar, (cf.S.1863) (15); similar issued A.D. 41, obv. as above with hand left holding pair of scales, P N R between, rev. PON M TR P IMP P P COS DES IT, S C in centre, (S.1864) (6); Augustus, similar ISSUED 4 B.C., with obv. of C NAEVIVS CAPELLA around SC, rev. altar, (S.1704). Mostly fine, several with oxidation and many off centred with incomplete legends, all appear to have a common hoard source. (22)
