DOMITIAN, issued as Caesar under Vespasian, (A.D. 81-96) silver denarius, issue of A.D. 76, (3.31 g), obv. CAES AVG F DOMITIANVS, laureate head to right, rev. COS IIII above, Pegasus walking right, (cf.S.2637, cf.RIC 238, cf.RSC 47). Lightly toned, very fine, rare variant.

Ex Collection of Barry Allen Jones with ticket from European dealer. An obverse legend variant to published pieces. This issue is interesting in that the reverse copies a piece issued by Augustus in 19 B.C.
